News Davis and Spahn to Star in Shepard's True West Off-Broadway The Athena Theatre Company will present a limited engagement of Sam Shepard's True West beginning Jan. 28 at The Lion @ Theatre Row.

Jen Forcino will direct the production, which runs through Jan. 31. The cast will feature Brionne Davis as Lee and Ryan Spahn as Austin with Shawn Shafner and Ann Farthing. True West, according to press notes, "is about the sibling rivalry between two estranged brothers who have reconnected. Austin, the younger brother, is a Hollywood screenwriter writing a screenplay while house sitting for his mother, who is vacationing in Alaska. His older brother, Lee, appears at the house after the two have not seen each other for years. Lee is a drifter and thief and has been living in the desert. The two are not on good terms, but Austin attempts to appease his older brother, who is more dominant."

The production will feature original music by Andrew Edwards, set design by Stefan Depner, lighting design by Ross Graham, costume design by Susan Voelker, set dressing and prop design by Carolyn Bonanni and sound design by Colin Whitely.
