News Day-Of and Standing-Room Tix Announced for The River With Hugh Jackman; Broadway Presale Begins Today American Express card members now have exclusive access to tickets for the Broadway premiere of The River, the new Jez Butterworth play starring Hugh Jackman that will arrive on Broadway this fall. Producers have also announced day-of and standing-room-only ticket policies for the limited Broadway run.

Sonia Friedman Productions presents the limited 13-week engagement that will begin previews Oct. 31 towards a Nov. 16 Broadway opening at Circle in the Square. Performances are currently scheduled through Jan. 25, 2015. The play had its premiere in 2012 at the Royal Court Theatre.

AmEx card members have exclusive access to tickets to The River through June 15. Tickets will go on sale to members of the general public June 16 at 12:01 AM. Producers also announced that a limited number of $35 day-of seats will be available for every performance of The River. When performances are sold out, $30 standing-room tickets will also be available.

Ian Rickson (Jerusalem), who helmed the London premiere of the play, will again direct.

Tony winner Jackman (The Boy from Oz, A Steady Rain, "Les Misérables") will be joined by original London cast member Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo, who was seen in the all-female version of Julius Caesar at St. Ann's Warehouse last fall.

According to producers, "A remote cabin on the cliffs, a man and a woman, and a moonless night. Jez Butterworth’s The River asks when we find each other, are we trying to recapture someone we once lost? The writer director team who brought you Jerusalem returns with a bewitching new story."

The River will have production design by Ultz, with lighting by Charles Balfour, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph and music by Stephen Warbeck.
