News DC Shakespeare Theatre's All-Male Romeo and Juliet Extended The Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC, has added a handful of performances to the run of its all-male-cast production of Romeo and Juliet. The engagement now ends Oct. 18 rather than Oct. 12, at Sidney Harman Hall.

David Muse directs the new staging, which began Aug. 9. Extension performances for the general public are Oct. 17 at 8 PM and Oct. 18 at 2 PM and 8 PM.

Extension performances also include two "SHAKESPEARIENCE" student matinees on Oct. 14 and 15 at 10 AM. Teachers and group leaders interested in reserving tickets to SHAKESPEARIENCE performances should visit www.shakespearetheatre.org/education/community/shakespearience.aspx.

The world's greatest and most enduring love story, "Romeo and Juliet" follows its star-crossed lovers as they hurtle from their first shy glances to their last heartrending kiss. "Staged in the thrust configuration, Romeo and Juliet features period costumes and music influenced by the Renaissance to explore theatre traditions prevalent in Shakespeare's day," according to the Shakespeare Theatre.

The cast includes Finn Wittrock as Romeo and James Davis as Juliet, with Aubrey Deeker, Drew Eshelman, Ted van Griethuysen, Dan Kremer, Lawrence Redmond and Craig Wallace. Walker Jones steps into the run Oct. 7, replacing Jeffrey Kuhn.
