Broadway News Dear Evan Hansen Celebrates Journey to Broadway A new video looks back on the Tony-nominated musical’s journey to the Music Box Theatre.

In celebration of receiving nine 2017 Tony Award nominations, Dear Evan Hansen looks back at its journey to Broadway, from the world premiere at Arena Stage and the show’s Off-Broadway debut, to arriving at the Music Box Theatre. Take a look in the video above.

Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a teenage boy trying to find his way during the chaos of high school. The show is in the running for the Tony Award for Best Musical at the upcoming June 11 awards night, as well as the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical and Best Original Score.

Stars Ben Platt, Rachel Bay Jones, and Mike Faist are also nominated for their performances.

The original musical features a score by the Oscar-winning and Tony and Emmy-nominated songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), a book by Tony nominee Steven Levenson (Masters of Sex), choreography by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and direction by multiple Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then).

The cast of Dear Evan Hansen is made up of Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Faist, Michael Park, Will Roland, Kristolyn Lloyd, Michael Lee Brown, Garrett Long, Olivia Puckett, Colton Ryan, and Asa Somers.
