Dear Evan Hansen to Premiere Music Video at Exact Same Time as Tonight’s Live Broadway Performance | Playbill

News Dear Evan Hansen to Premiere Music Video at Exact Same Time as Tonight’s Live Broadway Performance Fans can follow the show’s official Periscope and Twitter channels to follow the onstage and behind-the-scenes action during the first Broadway preview of the new musical.

For those unable to make the first preview of Dear Evan Hansen at the Music Box Theatre on November 14, the show has announced that viewers will be able to follow a whole lot of behind-the-scenes action on the show’s official Periscope and Twitter channels, @DearEvanHansen.

Both digital platforms will be used to broadcast pre-show activity and interviews with the creative team, along with the premiere of the show’s new music video of “Only Us” (broadcast live at the exact time the song is being performed onstage), curtain call activity, and a special stage door moment with the cast following the show.

It was also announced that beginning December 6, Dear Evan Hansen will launch a digital lottery, which will allow users to enter the lottery for a chance to purchase specially-priced tickets to that day’s performance.

Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Steven Levenson’s new musical—about one student's struggle for identity amidst the chaos of high school—played an acclaimed, sold-out run Off-Broadway earlier this year and will officially open on Broadway December 4.

Pitch Perfect's Ben Platt, who led the world and New York premieres, once again stars as Evan Hansen. He is joined by Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Mike Faist, Michael Park, Will Roland, and Kristolyn Lloyd.

The original musical features a score by the Tony and Emmy-nominated songwriting team of Pasek and Paul (Dogfight, A Christmas Story), a book by Obie Award winner Levenson (Masters of Sex), choreography by Danny Mefford (Fun Home), and direction by three-time Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then).

Here’s how production notes outline the story: “A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. Both deeply personal and profoundly contemporary, Dear Evan Hansen is a new American musical about life and the way we live it.”

The tickets for Dear Evan Hansen ($49-$149) can be ordered from Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. The Music Box Theatre box office is located at 239 West 45th Street, New York. For more information visit DearEvanHansen.com.
