The Lyric Theatre in Los Angeles has announced its 2011 season, which will include the little-seen Jerry Herman musical Dear World, plus the Vegas-set Nunsense sequel and the West Coast premiere of Lust 'n Rust, The Trailer Park Musical.

Nunsensations! – The Nunsense Vegas Revue will kick off the season Feb. 11-March 13. The seventh musical in the Nunsense series, featuring book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin and directed by Amy Rowell, is set in the Pump Room Lounge of the Mystique Motor Lodge in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the company, "The Sisters have been told by a Hoboken parishioner that he will donate $10,000 to their school if the Sisters go to Las Vegas and perform in a friend's showroom. Reverend Mother has serious doubts about appearing in 'Sin City.' However, after convincing her that 'what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,' the Sisters plan their program." Lust 'n Rust, The Trailer Park Musical will perform April 1-30. Written by Frank Haney, Carol Kimball and Dave Stratton and directed by Thomas Colby, the show follows a New Jersey corporate manager who is transferred to a small town in Southern Illinois to run the local food processing plants, and the quirky characters and unexpected relationship he finds in the local trailer park."

Dear World, directed by Colby, will close the season, May 20-June 19. With book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, the show is a musicalization of The Madwoman of Chaillot, the Jean Giradoux play about the Countesses Aurelia, Constance and Gabrielle, "who deviously scheme to stop businessmen from drilling for oil in the Parisian neighborhood of Chaillot. The forces of idealism, love and poetry win over those of greed, materialism and science, still a relevant message for today."

The Lyric Theatre is located at 520 North La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. For more information, visit For tickets for Nunsensations!, visit or or call (626) 695-8283.
