News "Death of the Liberal Class" by Pulitzer Winner Gets Off-Broadway Adaptation Death of the Liberal Class, a stage adaptation of the best-selling 2010 book by Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Hedges, will have its world premiere at Off-Broadway's New Ohio Theatre Jan. 10-Feb. 13, 2016, officially opening Jan. 25.

The play was written by Robert Lyons and will be directed by Jerry Heymann. It will star Steven Rattazzi (Indecent, Galileo), with Jeanette Dilone ("James White"), Olivia Horton (Deliver Us From Evil), Melissa Murray (Playboy of the West Indies at Lincoln Center Theater), Justin Colón and Arthur Aulisi.

The dark domestic comedy tells the story of "a burned-out, left wing journalist [who] retreats to the family farm hoping to find peace of mind." It's about "liberal parenting, capitalist co-option, and losing (or finding) your edge."

Hedges was part of a group of New York Times journalists awarded the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for the paper's coverage of global terrorism.

The New Ohio Theatre is located at 154 Christopher St. in NYC.
