LOS ANGELES -- Harriet's Return, starring Debbie Allen as Harriet Tubman, has been extended for another two weeks and will now run through Mar. 14 at the Geffen Theatre.

In addition to scheduling several special student matinees, Harriet's Return has also added performances Mar. 12 at 7:30 PM, Mar. 13 at 8 PM and Mar. 14 at 4 PM and 8:30 PM.

Allen has received critical praise for her portrayal of Tubman, a woman whose exceptional courage forever changed a nation.

Laurie Winer in the Los Angeles Times wrote that Harriet's Return finds "Debbie Allen in the most impressive performance of her acting career." Reed Johnson in the L.A. Daily News called the play "as deeply felt and acted [a] piece of theatre [as] you'll experience this year."

Written by Karen Jones Meadows and directed by Kent Gash, Harriet's Return chronicles the life of Tubman through words, movement and spirituals.
