News Deborah Cox Will Record Tunes from The Bodyguard The Grammy nominee is currently starring in the national tour of the musical based on the film of the same name.

Deborah Cox, who stars in the current national tour of the new musical The Bodyguard—based on the Whitney Houston film of the same name—will record eight songs from the production, according to showbiz411.com.

The recording, which will not be a cast recording, will likely be released on iTunes. Grammy nominee Cox will lend her vocal talents to such tunes as “I Will Always Love You,” “All the Man That I Need,” “I'm Every Woman,” “One Moment in Time,” and more. (The world premiere cast recording of The Bodyguard, featuring Alexandra Burke, is available from First Night Records.)

The industry website also reports that the musical is aiming for Broadway following the national tour. Dates for the recording and Broadway have yet to be announced.

Pop star Cox previously appeared on Broadway in Aida and the revival of Jekyll & Hyde.
