Beginning Monday, July 21, Deedee Lynn Magno will make her Broadway debut as Kim in Miss Saigon.

The long-running musical at the Broadway Theatre has music by Claude-Michel Schonberg and lyrics by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr.

Magno comes to Broadway as Kim after originating the role in the 2nd national company of the show. She succeeds Joan Almedilla, the longest-running Kim on Broadway who leaves after playing more than 600 performances. The role of Kim will continue to be played by Roxanne Taga at certain performances. Matt Bogart, who starred opposite Mango in the MS 2nd national, co-stars as Chris, the American G.I. Kim falls in love with. Milton Craig Nealy, who created great audience rapport in Five Guys Named Moe and Once On This Island, plays Chris's G.I. friend John.

On July 21, Juan P. Pineda moves from the ensemble, where he's played roles for three years, to succeed Welly Yang in the role of commissar Thuy.

The musical, which entered it's seventh year on Broadway in April, is produced by Cameron Mackintosh.
