Complete casting for the upcoming Second Stage Theatre production of Michael John LaChiusa world premiere musical Little Fish has been confirmed by a production spokesperson. Lea DeLaria and LaChanze will join previously announced Jennifer Laura Thompson in the new tuner set to begin previews Jan. 21, 2003 and open Feb. 12 at the Off-Broadway venue.

DeLaria was last seen on the Broadway stage in The Rocky Horror Show. Her other credits include On The Town, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Li'l Abner, The Vagina Monologues and in the national tour of Chicago.

LaChanze has recently performed in both the Funny Girl and Once on This Island benefit concerts. Her Broadway credits include Ragtime, Company and Once On This Island. Other credits include The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin and The Vagina Monologues.

Thompson, Tony Award-nominated for her turn as Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, has also appeared on The Great White Way in Footloose and OB in Strike Up the Band! (Encores!), Tip-Toes and A Doll's Life.

The rest of the cast includes Jesse Tyler Ferguson (On the Town, Newyorkers), Tom Flynn (How To Succeed…, The Who's Tommy), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Summer of '42), Ken Marks (Mamma Mia!, Blur), and Eric Jordan Young (Seussical). Composer of Broadway musicals such as The Wild Party and Marie Christine, LaChiusa's new musical, Little Fish, centers around a neurotic New Yorker who reflects on her attempts to quit smoking, exercise regularly, and find the man of her dreams in the big city. Hyphenate Graciela Daniele (Once on This Island, Marie Christine, A New Brain) directs and choreographs the work with book, lyrics and music by LaChiusa.

The creative team includes Riccardo Hernandez (sets), Peggy Eisenhauer (lights), Toni Leslie James (costumes) and Scott Lehrer (sound).
