Lea DeLaria, the singer-actress who made a splash Off-Broadway (The Greatest Story Ever Told), on Broadway (as Hildy in The Public Theater's On the Town) and in cabarets (Joe's Pub) and concerts (Encores!), has put pen to paper for a book of thoughts called "Lea's Book of Rules for the World." The Dell trade paperback was released this spring and is co written with Maggie Cassella. Included in the 213-page tome are candid/graphic explanations and observations of lesbian life, sex and love (with stick figure drawings by DeLaria) and plenty of references to New York theatre folk, from Paul Rudnick to George Wolfe to the Featured Actress Tony Award nominees in the 1998-99 season (DeLaria was not one of them).
DeLaria is an OBIE and Theater World Award winner.
