New Jersey's Crossroads Theatre Company will honor Tony and Oscar winner Denzel Washington with its inaugural Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee Living Legends Award. The award is named after the famed actors and civil rights couple, and will be presented at the theatre in New Brunswick October 19.
The star-studded evening will feature performances by Grammy winner Gregory Porter, among others. Learn more about the event and purchase tickets here.
Since making his Off-Broadway debut in 1979 in The Public's Shakespeare in the Park production of Coriolanus, Washington has appeared in a number of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. He is a a Tony winner for his performance in Fences, a two-time Oscar winner, and was most recently honored with the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award. As a producer, Washington is currently working on a feature film adaptation of August Wilson's play, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
