News Des McAnuff, Billy Porter, Gerry McIntyre and More Join Lineup for Rockers on Broadway Two-time Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, The Who’s Tommy) has joined the cast of Rockers on Broadway – Halloween Spooktacular, the latest edition of Broadway's favorite rock-and-roll concert series, which will be held Oct. 31 at the Midtown Theatre at the HA! Comedy Club.

Presented by the Path Fund, Inc., the 7 PM and 10 PM shows will benefit The Broadway Dreams Foundation, Broadway in South Africa and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Directed by Rockers on Broadway founder Donnie Kehr (Jersey Boys, Billy Elliot), Halloween Spooktacular, according to press notes, "promises to take a spine-tingling turn with an evening of Haloween themed rock classics that run the gamut from 'Witchcraft' to 'Thriller' to 'Time Warp' all performed by some of the biggest stars working on Broadway today along side rock and pop’s favorite icons." The evening will also feature a costume contest presided over by a panel of all-star judges.

McAnuff will perform the Rolling Stones classic "Sympathy for the Devil." He will be joined by former Tommy cast members Kehr and Cheryl Freeman (The Civil War), who will reprise her performance of "The Acid Queen."

Also joining the cast of Halloween Spooktacular are Billy Porter (Angels in America, Ghetto Superstar) and Gerry McIntyre (Once on this Island), Dustin Brayley (Rent), Margaret Kelly (Les Miserables) and Steve Gouviea (Jersey Boys). The performances will include special appearances by Randy Jones (The Village People) and Tommy Byrnes (Billy Joel Band member).

As previously announced, Halloween Spooktacular will feature performances from Jarrod Emick (Damn Yankees), Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Rent), Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer), Donnie Kehr (Jersey Boys), Jeremy Schonfeld (Clear Blue Tuesday), Emma Hunton (Next to Normal), Michael Lanning (Bonnie & Clyde), Delisco James (Aida) Ben Cameron (Wicked), Alena Watters (Sister Act), Brandon Wardell (Catch Me If You Can) Eric Michael Krop (Godspell) and The Broadway Dolls, among others. Joe Church (The Lion King, The Who’s Tommy) will musically direct. Rockers on Broadway, now in its 18th year, was founded by Kehr while appearing in the Broadway run of The Who’s Tommy and was inspired by Pete Townshend, who wanted the play’s performers to experience the feeling of singing with a rock band in a concert style venue, and to transfer the rawness of that edge to the stage.

The Path Fund, Inc. (Performing Artists That Help) was formed as a result of the success of Rockers on Broadway and aims to give artists of all kinds an avenue to share their unique talents while helping raise money for charities that benefit the arts and entertainment communities that inspire their livelihood.

The Midtown Theatre at the HA! Comedy Club is located at 163 West 46th Street just off Seventh Avenue. For more information and tickets, visit www.rockersonbroadway.com.
