Among the Color Purple cast members set to take part are Jeannette Bayardelle (Celie), former "American Idol" finalist LaToya London (Nettie) and Stephanie St. James (Squeak). Also appearing will be Felicia P. Fields – a Tony nominee for originating the role of Sofia in the Broadway bow of The Color Purple, who currently reprises her role on tour. Color Purple company members Shani Borden, Quentin Earl Darrington, Carol Dennis, Andre Garner, Rhett George, Trent Armand Kendall, Grasan Kingsbury, Keith Byron Kirk, Mariama Whyte and Anthony Williams II also take part in the event.

The Color Purple company will be joined by "Star Search" Champion Nita Whitaker, Todd Hunter (The Lion King), Christa Jackson (Smokey Joe's Café), Alli Mauzey (Hairspray, Cry Baby), Marliss Amiea (The Lion King), as well as Thomas Hobson, Jacob Nixon, Mimi Vitale, Melina RoChelle and Ty West.

The evening boasts a special performance from original Broadway Dreamgirls cast member Loretta Devine, who makes a cameo in the hit 2006 film adaptation as well. The Jan. 28 event benefits programming for the Valley Musical Theatre.

A Purple Cabaret: The "Reel" Songs of Hollywood will feature material created for the Hollywood films "Footloose," "Dirty Dancing," "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Beauty and the Beast," "Enchanted," "Top Gun," "Moulin Rouge" and more.

The 7:30 PM concert will take place at Los Angeles' Coronet Theatre, located at 366 N La Cienega Blvd. Tickets, priced $40 and $60, are available by calling (323) 657-7377. Special $125 VIP tickets, including a post-show reception with the cast, are available by calling (818) 669-8766.
