Massachusetts' American Repertory Theater will produce a new revival of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet in September, with dates to be announced.

Artistic Director and Tony winner Diane Paulus will helm the new production, which is to feature movement direction and choreography from two-time Olivier winner Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. The collaboration will reunite the two for the first time since Jagged Little Pill, which premiered at A.R.T. in 2018 prior to its Broadway run.

Paulus is a Tony winner for her 2013 revival of Pippin, a production that also began at A.R.T. She has also directed HairPorgy and BessFinding NeverlandWaitress, and 1776 (in collaboration with Jeffrey L. Page) for the Main Stem.

Housed on the Harvard campus, A.R.T. is currently presenting P. Carl's Becoming a Man through March 10. Next up will be the world premiere of Gatsby, a musical adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel (not to be confused with the separate musical adaptation poised to make a Broadway bow later this season) with songs by Florence Welch and Thomas Bartlett, and a book by Martyna Majok. Performances begin May 23.
