News Director Bartlett Sher and Soprano Anna Netrebko Will Participate in "TimesTalks" at TheTimesCenter Anna Netrebko, who will star as Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore at The Metropolitan Opera, will participate in a TimesTalks moderated by New York Times classical music and dance reporter Michael Cooper Sept. 18 at 7 PM. She will be joined by Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher and The Metropolitan Opera's general manager Peter Gelb.

The event will take place at TheTimesCenter and will also be webcast live.

Netrebko has performed at Carnegie Hall, Salzburg Festival, The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, London's Royal Opera House, Milan's Teatro alla Scala, Vienna State Opera, Paris Opera, Zurich Opera, Berlin State Opera and Munich's Bavarian State Opera.

Bartlett Sher has directed such Broadway productions as The Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, The Bridges of Madison County, the currently running production of The King and I at Lincoln Center and the revival of Fiddler on the Roof set  to begin previews Nov. 20.

Peter Gelb has served as the general manager for The Metropolitan Opera for the past ten years. He is an Emmy Award winner and was listed in the 2008 Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.
