Classic Arts News Director Charles Nelson Reilly Withdraws From Tosca in Memphis Actor-director Charles Nelson Reilly, who was scheduled to stage Tosca at Opera Memphis next month, has withdrawn from the production because of illness.
John Hoomes, the artistic director of Nashville Opera, and Michael McConnell, the former head of Lyric Opera Cleveland and a well-traveled opera director, have agreed to step in for Reilly.

The production, staring Kallen Esperian as Tosca and Francsco Petrozzi as Cavaradossi, opens on November 6.
