A Lincoln Center Theater spokesperson told Playbill.com that the director is "resting comfortably and after rehab is expected to make a full recovery." Haidle's drama, according to the spokesperson, "will go forward with another director finishing Nicky's work." No director has been named at the current time.

Saturn Returns is scheduled to begin previews at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater Oct. 16 with an official opening Nov. 10.

"The planet Saturn's orbital return to its position at the moment of a person's birth happens every 30 years," according to LCT. "In Saturn Returns, playwright Noah Haidle uses this phenomenon to take a look at one man – Gustin – during these pivotal moments as he confronts the three women in his life."

Haidle has penned the work so that three different actors — Robert Eli, John McMartin (Grey Gardens) and James Rebhorn (Twelve Angry Men) — portray Gustin at separate stages in his life. Actress Rosie Benton (Les Liaisons Dangereuses) will inhabit all of the women depicted in the work.

Designing the production are Ralph Funicello (set design), Robert Morgan (costume design) and Mark Bennett (original music and sound design). On Broadway Nicholas Martin has directed Butley, Match and Hedda Gabler. His Off-Broadway credits include The New Century, Fully Committed, Full Gallop, You Can Never Tell, Observe the Sons of Ulster, The Time of the Cuckoo, Chaucer in Rome, Betty's Summer Vacation and Bosoms and Neglect. For Williamstown, Martin has directed productions of The Corn is Green, Where's Charley?, Camino Real, Dead End, The Royal Family, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dreading Thekla and Mother of Invention. His regional credits are numerous, including a lengthy stint as artistic director for Boston's Huntington Theatre Company.
