As previously announced, Dirty Dancing will play the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. Previews for the show, based on the hit film, will begin Oct. 31. Tickets are now available by calling (416) 872-1212 or (800) 461-3333 or by visiting www.mirvish.com. Theatregoers are also able to purchase tickets at the Royal Alexandra Theatre box office at 260 King Street West.

David and Ed Mirvish, by arrangement with Jacobsen Entertainment, in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions, are presenting the show's Toronto run, which will officially open Nov. 15. The musical was penned by Eleanor Bergstein, the author and co-producer of the original film.

James Powell, who directed the London production, will repeat his duties for the Toronto run, as will choreographer Kate Champion. A casting search is currently underway.

The musical, according to press notes, is "a coming of age love story involving the talented and headstrong dancer Johnny Castle and Frances 'Baby' Houseman. During her family's summer holiday at the popular Kellerman's resort, Baby, a doctor's daughter with dreams of joining the Peace Corps, meets Johnny, the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. Against all odds, they fall in love, learning life-changing lessons along the way." The production features such tunes as "Hungry Eyes," "Do You Love Me?" and the Oscar-winning "(I've Had) The Time of My Life."

The Royal Alexandra Theatre is located at 260 King Street West in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
