News Disney's "Frozen" Wins Five Annie Awards; Movie Becomes Highest-Grossing Animated Film in South Korea "Frozen," Disney's 3-D animated film that features the voices of Tony Award winner Idina Menzel, Tony nominee Jonathan Groff and stage and screen actress Kristen Bell, took home five honors at the 41st Annual Annie Awards — honoring excellence in the field of animation — Feb. 1 at UCLA's Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, CA.

The film took home top honors, including Best Animated Feature, Directing in an Animated Feature Production (Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee), Music in an Animated Feature Production (Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, Christophe Beck), Production Design in an Animated Feature Production (Michael Giaimo, Lisa Keene, David Womersley) and Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production (Josh Gad as the voice of Olaf). The movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter, has also become the highest-grossing animated feature in South Korea. According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the Disney film has grossed $44.17 million (47.7 billion won) in South Korea, passing prior record-holder "Kung Fu Panda 2," which pulled in $41 million (44.298 billion won) in 2011.

The film has drawn over six million admissions in South Korea, reaching the box-office milestone in 18 days. "Frozen" has grossed $864.4 million worldwide at the box office since its late-November release. 

Disney recently released the sing-along version of the Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning film in 1,000 theatres.

"Frozen" received two Oscar nominations, including Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song ("Let It Go"). The film won a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature. In wide release since Nov. 27, the film posted the No. 1 all-time Thanksgiving debut and the largest opening ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. The soundtrack for "Frozen," WDAS' 53rd feature film, was No. 1 in the Billboard top 200 for two straight weeks.

Directed by Chris Buck ("Tarzan," "Surf's Up") and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter "Wreck-It Ralph") from a screenplay by Lee, the voice cast of the film features Bell ("Forgetting Sarah Marshall," The Crucible), Menzel (Wicked, If/Then), Groff (Spring Awakening), Tony Award nominees Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon) and Santino Fontana (Cinderella), Alan Tudyk (Prelude to a Kiss) and Ciarán Hinds (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof).

The film uses original songs by husband-and-wife songwriters Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez as well as an original score composed by Christophe Beck ("The Muppets").

Here's how the film, produced by Peter Del Vecho, is described: "Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom."
