News Do Something Awards Held Aug. 19; "Glee," Lea Michele, Neil Patrick Harris, Andrew Garfield Among Nominees The 2012 Do Something Awards, which honor the nation's "best, young world-changers," are presented Aug. 19 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The 2012 ceremony, which will be broadcast Aug. 21 at 9 PM ET on VH1, is hosted by Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris, who co-star in the Fox comedy "New Girl." The evening includes musical performances, and one "do-er" will receive a grand prize of $100,000 for his or her cause. 



Among the nominees are "Glee" and "Modern Family" for TV Show; Michele, Zooey Deschanel and Betty White for Female TV Star; Monteith, Harris, Ryan Seacrest, Don Cheadle and Ian Somerhalder for Male TV Star; Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson for Female Movie Star; Andrew Garfield and Channing Tatum for Male Movie Star; Adam Lambert and Taylor Swift for Music Artist; Ellen DeGeneres and Russell Brand for Comedian; and Somerhalder, Kristen Bell and Lady Gaga for Twitter accounts.

The VH1 Do Something Awards are executive-produced by Michael Dempsey for Dempsey Productions and Lee Rolontz for VH1. Nancy Lublin and Naomi Hirabayashi oversee the awards show for DoSomething.org.
