Rock of Ages Tour to Hold Open Calls in Hollywood and Chicago Aspiring metal-heads, take note: Broadway’s hit 80s rock-fest Rock of Ages is holding open casting calls for the show’s national tour May 13 at Hollywood United Methodist Church in Hollywood and May 17 at the Visceral Dance Center in Chicago.


Casting director Tiffany Little Canfield will be running both auditions. The audition is open to both Equity and non-Equity performers, ages 18-50.
Singers will be seen from 10 AM-1 PM. Female dancers will step up starting at 1 PM, and male dancers will get their turn at 3 PM. Singers are asked to prepare a brief rock song a capella. “Body conscious clothes,” kneepads and sneakers are suggested for dancers; “heels are great for women,” according to press notes.

The Rock of Ages tour kicks off in Chicago Sept. 21. A musical romance between a small-town girl and an aspiring rocker on the Sunset Strip, the show features a book by Christopher D’Arienzo, direction by Kristin Haangi, and some of the greatest rock hits of the 1980s, by artists from Journey to Styx to Pat Benatar to Whitesnake.
