Classic Arts News Dolora Zajick Drops Out of Houston Trovatore With Knee Injury Mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick has withdrawn from the Houston Grand Opera's upcoming production of Verdi's Il trovatore because of a knee injury, the company announced. Jill Grove will replace her in the starring role of Azucena.
Grove is an alumna of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, where she studied from 1993 through 1996. She made her Royal Opera debut earlier this season as La Cieca in La Gioconda, and has also appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Il trovatore runs January 21-February 6. HGO music director Patrick Summers conducts; the cast includes Marcello Giordani and Sondra Radvanovsky.
