Jones is leaving the show early in order to shoot his new series "Crash Course" for ABC-TV. Domingo, who begins performances June 29, will stay with the production through its closing on July 5.

The Charlie Smalls-William F. Brown musical The Wiz began previews at the famed New York venue June 12 and officially opened June 18. The cast also features Ashanti, LaChanze, Joshua Henry, James Monroe Iglehart, Christian Dante White, Tichina Arnold and Dawnn Lewis.

Tony-nominated In the Heights director Thomas Kail and his Tony-winning collaborators, Andy Blankenbuehler (choreographer) and Alex Lacamoire (musical director), staged the production.

Colman Domingo has been seen on Broadway in Passing Strange and Well and Off-Broadway in Passing Strange, Henry V, Bright Ideas and American Maul. His screen credits include "Miracle at St. Anna," "True Crime," "Freedomland" and "The Big Gay Sketch Show."
