The Beginning of August, the latest work by Tom Donaghy -- the author of Minutes from the Blue Route -- will have its debut at South Coast Repertory on April 25, 2000. Much like Blue Route, the play takes a comic look at the American family in transition. Donaghy's works has been seen in New York at the Atlantic Theatre Company (Blue Route) and Lincoln Center Theatre (Northeast Local). His most recent play, From Above, was staged at Playwrights Horizons in the spring of 1998.
The Beginning of August is only part of a blockbuster 1999-2000 season at South Coast Rep, which will also features new works from playwright Howard Korder and songwriter Randy Newman.
