News Donald Rumsfeld Sings in Off-Broadway's Zippo Songs, May 28-31 Do U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's evasive, ruminative press conferences about Iraq make for good lyrics?

Evidently composer Phil Kline thinks so. He has used the cabinet member's speeches, as well as the poems GIs inscribed on their Zippo lighters during the Vietnam war and the poetry of David Shapiro to create the new song cycle Zippo Songs: Airs of War and Lunacy. The show, which will run May 28 to 31 at Off-Off-Broadway's HERE (145 Avenue of the Americas ), is a presentation of the Salt Theater. Salt artistic director Emma Griffin directs. Theo Bleckmann, Todd Reynolds and David Cossin are in the cast.

Salt's past projects have included a praised revival of Kaufman and Ferber's Stage Door.

Tickets are $15. Call (212) 647-0202.
