News Donna Lynne Champlin Will Star in NYMF's Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice Donna Lynne Champlin (Billy Elliot, Sweeney Todd, Hollywood Arms) will star in the title role of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Directed by Igor Goldin, performances are scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 11 at Signature Theatre's Peter Norton Space.

The musical features music, lyrics and book by Lindsay Warren Baker and Amanda Jacobs. "Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy's romance comes to life with fresh eyes as Jane Austen revisits her unpublished manuscript, 'First Impressions,'" according to press notes. "As Austen transforms their story into what will ultimately become her masterpiece, 'Pride and Prejudice,' both the author and her characters struggle to learn the joy of second chances."

Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The production will also feature choreography by Lucille Lortel Award nominee Jeffry Denman, musical direction by Timothy Splain, set design by Josh Zangen, lighting design by Zach Blane, costume design by Colleen Kesterson and general management by La Vie Productions.

Performances are scheduled for Sept. 29 at 8 PM, Oct. 1 at 9 PM, Oct. 2 at 1 PM and 5 PM, Oct. 7 at 1 PM and Oct. 11 at 5 PM.
