Donna McKechnie returns to Arci's Place to play her critically-acclaimed one-woman show, An Evening With Donna McKechnie: My Musical Comedy Life, on Mondays, March 11, 18 and 25.
She sang sold-out dates of the show in 2001 and January 2002 at Arci's, the Manhattan cabaret spot on Park Avenue.
Last week, McKechnie recorded her more expansive career retrospective, Inside the Music, for Fynsworth Alley, and the CD is due out within a month's time. McKechnie will be a guest on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" March 20, when she is scheduled to perform her show-stopping number from A Chorus Line, "The Music and the Mirror."
McKechnie is best known to theatre audiences for her Tony-winning performance as Cassie in the original Broadway company of A Chorus Line. The singer-dancer-actress has also appeared in a plethora of other musicals both on and Off-Broadway, some of which include roles in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Company, State Fair, Can-Can, Annie Get Your Gun, I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It On the Road, State Fair and Promises, Promises. In her one-woman musical celebrations, My Musical Comedy Life and Inside the Music, McKechnie performs songs from several of these productions and offers personal anecdotes about her experiences with some of the theatre's finest actors, directors, producers and writers.
