As reported in Variety and confirmed by Cabaret press agent Erin Dunn (of the Boneau/Bryan-Brown office), Teri Hatcher (of television's "Lois and Clark") is in negotiations for the Roundabout tour of the Tony Award winning musical.
Hatcher has reportedly been offered two possibilities, either taking the role of Sally Bowles in Pace Theatrical's North American tour, or joining the tour after a Broadway run.
The Pace tour is 49 weeks long and begins February 1999 at Los Angeles' Wilshire Theatre, making stops to Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Minneapolis and Toronto -- ending in San Francisco in January 2000.
Dunn denied the rumors that Tony winner Natasha Richardson will rejoin the production sometime in January 1999, when current star, Jennifer Jason Leigh's contract is up.
Hatcher has also appeared in the recent James Bond film, "Tomorrow Never Dies", "2 Days in the Valley," and "Soapdish" . Beginning Nov. 12, 1998, the Kander and Ebb tuner will move to New York's infamous Studio 54 nightclub space, after finishing its run at the newly renovated Kit Kat Klub on 43rd Street.
