Hughes (Frozen) will guide Andrew Weems as Sganarelle, Henry Strozier as Ariste, Maggie Lacey as Isabelle, Mia Barron as Léonor, Danielle Ferland as Lisette, Joe Delafield as Valère, Wayne Kasserman as Ergaste, Paul Blankenship as a Magistrate and Louis Rosen as a Notary. It will be the first directing assignment for the busy Hughes since he earned his first Tony nomination, and a homecoming for Lacey, who starred in the Westport production of Our Town, both at the Playhouse and later on Broadway.
Husbands will play July 29-Aug. 15.
The storied Playhouse is spending 2004 waiting for its classic barn-theatre home to be modernized and renovated. Its summer shows will be presented at Westport's temporary home at The Ridgefield Playhouse for Movies and the Performing Arts.
