Part of the Huntington Theatre's third annual Breaking Ground Festival of New Play Readings, the performance is scheduled to include the talents of Douglas Sills and Nancy Anderson as well as Jill Paice, Jonathan Hadley, Marilyn Caskey, Bill Gross, Kate Delima, Kent French, Tregoney Shepherd and Price Waldman. Kind Hearts and Coronets features music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak and book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman. Lutvak and Freedman also penned the musical Campaign of the Century, which won the 2006 California Musical Theatre Award from the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild.

Set in 1902 England, Kind Hearts and Coronets, according to production notes, "centers on Louis D’Ascoyne Mazzini who has been callously disinherited by the wealthy and titled D’Ascoyne Family. Louis seeks revenge by murdering the eight relatives who stand in his way of becoming the 10th Duke of Chalfont." Sills will play all eight murder victims in the reading.

Musical moments from Kind Hearts and Coronets were previously presented in October 2004 at the Frederick Loewe Room at the Dramatists Guild in Manhattan.

The Breaking Ground Festival of New Play Readings are held at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.
