News Drama Book Shop Celebrates Madeline Kahn with Panel of Friends and Colleagues Tonight Manhattan's Drama Book Shop hosts a panel discussion on the life and career of late stage and screen legend Madeline Kahn on June 11 at 6 PM, moderated by author William V. Madison.

The panel is composed of Kahn's colleagues and friends, including Robert Klein, a frequent co-star; lyricist Martin CharninHello, Dolly! director Lee Roy Reams; Scott Ellis, who was the last to direct Kahn; writer/director Jonathan Lynn; co-star and Tony nominee Walter Willison; Joan Copeland; Maddie Corman; and Lawrence Leritz.

Madison, a former producer at CBS News and a former associate editor of Opera News, is the writer of the new biography about the star, who passed away in 1999, "Madeline Kahn: Being the Music • A Life."

Following the panel discussion, "Madeline Kahn: Being the Music • A Life" will be available for purchase and signing.

Oscar-nominated, Emmy and Tony-winning actress Kahn had a career in show business that spanned several decades. Trained as an opera singer, she made her debut in New York City nightclubs before going on to star on Broadway and in Hollywood. She originated the role of Lily Garland in On the Twentieth Century currently being played in a revival by Kristin Chenoweth.
