A new play, Chili Queen, by PBS "Newshour" anchor Jim Lehrer, opens Nov. 12 at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, NY. The play was inspired by an actual event that Lehrer himself witnessed: an argument that took place between an unemployed gas station attendant and a waitress.

In Chili Queen the argument evolves into a hostage situation.

The play, featuring Margot Hartman and Brad Beyer and directed by Del Tenney, is scheduled to run through Nov. 23 at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, NY. For tickets, call (914) 358-6333.
