Awards Drama Desk Awards Set Dates for Eligibility Cut-Off and Nominations

The awards honor Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway productions.

The 66th Annual Drama Desk Awards, honoring the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway theatre, have set an eligibility cut-off for May 1 and an announcement of this year's nominees for May 2. A date and location for the ceremony will be announced in the coming days.

This year's awards will be the first since 2020, when A Strange Loop and The Inheritance took home the honors for Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Play, respectively, via a virtual ceremony.

"The Drama Desk Awards are a celebration of what’s outstanding at all levels of professional theatre in New York City,” say Co-Drama Desk Presidents David Barbour and Charles Wright in a statement. “The awards show honors the variety, creativity, and sheer talent that New York City theatre offers; and after an uncertain time in the industry, it’s exciting that live theatre is back and thriving.”

This year's nominating committee comprises Martha Wade Steketee, Peter Filichia, Kenji Fujishima, Juan Michael Porter II, Ayanna Prescod, Zachary Stewart, and Diep Tran.
