The Drama League has announced four Summer Directing Program Fellows, four Fall Production Program Fellows, three New Directors/New Works Fellows and nine Drama League/Roundabout Assistant Directors Program Fellows. Each year since 1984, the League has awarded fellowships in order to foster the burgeoning careers of young theatre directors.

Summer fellows spend 11 weeks at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY, staging plays and assistant directing another production. Fall fellows spend 12 weeks assisting top theatre directors at prominent Off Broadway and regional theatres, then head to NYC to mount an Equity one act play at a leading venue. New Directors/New Works fellows work with collaborators on new plays and musicals and have access to free rehearsal space in Pace University’s Schaeberle Studio Theatre. Finally, the Drama League Roundabout Assistant Directors Program puts paid directing assistants on productions at the Roundabout Theatre in New York City.
