Actress Catherine Slade will perform a dramatic reading of the works of Leon Forrest on Nov. 17 at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Co. The program will also include appearances by pianist/saxophonist Ari Brown and saxophonist Henry Threadgill.

Forrest, the prolific novelist who has been dubbed "America's black Faulkner," is the author of Divine Days, There is a Tree More Ancient Than Eden and Two Wings to Veil My Face.

The event is part of Steppenwolf's "Traffic" inter-arts series.

The Works of Leon Forrest will be performed on Nov. 17 at 7:30 PM at Steppenwolf Theatre Co., 1650 N. Halsted St., Chicago. For tickets, call (312) 335-1650.
