Twenty-seven years after its L.A. As the company's new artistic director, Allison chose the Roger Karshner drama for the first show of her tenure as head of the MET.

Set in 1930's Ohio, The Dream Crust is the story of a family at odds with a life of farming and the modern world. Frank Haynes, a factory worker, would rather till the soil, but he supports himself well enough. If only he didn't have to deal with his best friend's alcohol addiction, his in laws' schemes and his tense relationship with his wife. Frank's real happiness is with his son, but the other demands on his life and time may destroy that relationship completely.

Karshner compiled several popular collections of monologues including "Dialect Monologues," "Monologues They Haven't Heard" and "Neil Simon Monologues," as well as writing the comedy The Man With the Plastic Sandwich.

The Dream Crust features Paul Farber, Gammon, David Goldman, Jeffrey Gorman, Ian Gregory, Andrea Herz and Shannon Welles.
