The unscripted series from Warner Horizon Television and Mike Fleiss' Next Entertainment is executive produced by Fleiss and Lisa Levenson ("Bachelor"). No airdate for the show has been announced. "The Great American Dream Vote," the trade mag revealed, will find "eight contestants who reveal a lifelong dream to the studio audience, explaining why they think it deserves to be fulfilled. Contestants will square off, and the studio audience will cast votes, eliminating entrants over several rounds." By the end of each show, viewers will get the chance to vote upon which of the final two contestants will get the chance to realize his or her dream. The results will be featured in the following episode.

Osmond recently returned to the Broadway stage for a stint in Beauty and the Beast as Gaston. He made his Broadway debut in 1982 in the very short-lived (one performance only) revival of Little Johnny Jones and headlined a national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The star who grew up on television as host of "The Donny & Marie Show," starting in 1976, also headed the talk show "Donny & Marie" and the game show "Pyramid."

"Hosting 'The Great American Dream Vote' for ABC represents a homecoming of sorts," Osmond told the trade magazine. "Moreover, in a clear case of life imitating art, it definitely represents another dream come true for me."
