DRG President Hugh Fordin told Playbill.com that a mix of current and former cast members of the various editions of Forbidden Broadway will head to Legacy Studios Oct. 18 to record tracks for "Forbidden Broadway: The 25th Anniversary." "The album will not only include songs from [Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening]," said Fordin, "but also songs from earlier productions which we have not [released] on any of the eight earlier editions." DRG recorded the first Forbidden Broadway 25 years ago and has recorded various editions since that time.

"Forbidden Broadway: The 25th Anniversary" is scheduled to arrive in stores Jan. 9, 2008.

Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening — the 25th anniversary edition of the long-running, award-winning revue created by Gerard Alessandrini in 1982 — officially opens at Off-Broadway's 47th Street Theatre Oct. 2. Directed by creator Alessandrini and Phillip George, Rude Awakening offers spoofs of Spring Awakening, Curtains, A Chorus Line, Grease, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins, Company and Grey Gardens, among others. The cast features Jared Thomas Bradshaw, Janet Dickinson, James Donegan and Valerie Fagan with Steve Saari on piano.
