Metropolitan Talent presents the one-night gig, which will play the Concert Hall at the New York Society for Ethical Culture (located at 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West) at 8 PM. Doors open at 7 PM. Tickets ($35) are available through ticketmaster.
According to the artist's website, "Upcoming shows will include songs from Duncan's prior records in addition to selections from his theatrical work including Spring Awakening, Nero and The Nightingale.
No word on whether members of the cast will join him onstage for the concert, which lands on a dark night for the Broadway show.
With book writer-lyricist Sater, composer Sheik created the current Broadway musical Spring Awakening as well as the musical The Nightingale — which was recently worked on at TheatreWorks' annual Writers' Retreat (Jan. 22-28) in Palo Alto, CA. The duo have also collaborated on Nero (Another Golden Rome), a Sater work with songs by Sheik that was seen as part of the Magic Theatre's Hot House Festival in March 2006 in San Francisco.
