Classic Arts News Earl Wild Unable to Appear at Int'l Keyboard Festival & Institute Due to illness, the distinguished 90-year-old pianist Earl Wild has cancelled his scheduled performance tomorrow night (July 22 at 8 pm) at the International Keyboard Festival & Institute in New York City.
The IKIF, which is running from July 16-30 at New School University's Mannes College of Music on Manhattan's Upper West Side, is offering instead an evening of reminiscences of the _minence grise of the keyboard. "An Evening with Earl," hosted by WQXR radio presenter David Dubal, will feature audio and video clips of Wild as well as remembrances and live performances by Jerome Rose, Fabio Bidini, Steven Mayer, Leslie Howard and Jeffrey Swann.

Tickets already sold will, of course, be honored for the replacement event; ticket holders may also request a refund or an exchange for any other IKIF concert (except the July 29 performance by Marc-Andr_ Hamelin, which is sold out). Complete information on the International Keyboard Festival and Institute is available at www.ikif.org.
