Kitt most recently starred in Kander and Ebb's All About Us, a musical based on the Thornton Wilder work The Skin of Our Teeth, which was presented at the Westport Country Playhouse. She is a three-time Tony nominee for her work in Mrs. Patterson in 1955, Timbuktu! in 1978 and Michael John LaChiusa's The Wild Party in 2000.

Kitt, an Emmy winner for her work on the Disney series "The Emperor's New School," will join Tony Award winners Shuler Hensley, Debra Monk, James Naughton, Bebe Neuwirth, David Hyde Pierce, Chita Rivera, Ben Vereen and Karen Ziemba for the gala evening. Peter Flynn will direct with musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

The gala, which benefits the Westport Country Playhouse, will also include a private cocktail and dinner reception for benefactors with guest of honor John Kander and the evening's stars.

In addition, silent and live auctions will be held including vacations, Broadway tickets, and more. Funds generated will support artistic and educational programming at Westport Country Playhouse.

Tony award winners John Kander and Fred Ebb first collaborated on the song "My Coloring Book" in 1962. The team would go on to create their first musical with Hal Prince, Flora, The Red Menace, starring a young Liza Minnelli. Their works also include Cabaret, The Happy Time, Zorba, Chicago, The Act, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Curtains. The duo have also seen Cabaret and Chicago adapted into successful films. Their musical All About Us, based on the Thornton Wilder play The Skin of Our Teeth, was produced at the Westport Country Playhouse earlier this year. Benefit tickets for the 7:30 PM benefit are $2,000 and $1,000 for the cocktail party, performance and dinner; $500 for the cocktail party and performance only. Reservations are limited by the intimate size of the theatre, and can be made by contacting the Westport Country Playhouse at (203) 227-5137, ext. 138.
