LOS ANGELES -- East West Players is offering two scholarships for the 1998-99 season of the David Henry Hwang Writers Institute, a 20-week writing workshop beginning Sept. 12 that culminates in a reading series.Applications, which are due on Sept. 4, should include a cover letter with the applicant's name, address, phone number and a 1- or 2-page writing sample from any genre.
