News East West Players Salute Asian Pacific Artists April 28 America's first Asian Pacific American theatre company, East West Players, celebrates it's 31st anniversary by honoring Asian Pacific artists with an Awards Dinner and silent auction, Monday, April 28 at the Bonaventure Hotel of Los Angeles (404 South Figueroa Street, between 4th & 5th Streets).

America's first Asian Pacific American theatre company, East West Players, celebrates it's 31st anniversary by honoring Asian Pacific artists with an Awards Dinner and silent auction, Monday, April 28 at the Bonaventure Hotel of Los Angeles (404 South Figueroa Street, between 4th & 5th Streets).

Emceeing the evening's festivities will be Ming-Na Wen, (The Single Guy and Joy Luck Club) and Steve Park (Fargo and In Living Color). Recognition awards are scheduled to be handed out to the likes of David Henry Hwang, playwright and Tony winner for M Butterfly; George Takei, "Captain Sulu" from Star Trek; John Woo , director of Hardboiled and Broken Arrow; Amy Hill, Actor from the ABC sitcom All American Girl and Fox's The Pauly Shore Show; Soon-Tek Oh, veteran actor (Pacific Overtures) and founding member of EWP and many others.

The silent auction with reception will be held at 6 PM with the Dinner & Awards Show immediately following at 7 PM. All proceeds from EWP's 31st Anniversary celebration will go to benefit the company which includes the Theatre for Youth, educational programs and mainstage productions.
