News Easter Bonnet Competition Sets April Dates at the Minskoff Theatre The 29th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition, produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will be held April 20 at 4:30 PM and April 21 at 2 PM at the Minskoff Theatre, home to the Tony-winning musical The Lion King.

The Easter Bonnet Competition is a two-day event that celebrates six weeks of intensive fundraising efforts by Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions.

Performers from participating shows sing, dance and wear elaborate Easter bonnets made especially for the Competition. The winner of the Easter Bonnet Competition is the company that raises the most for BC/EFA in weeks of curtain-call fundraising, beginning March 6. Awards also are given for best bonnet design and best presentation.

Hosts, judges and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year's Easter Bonnet Competition raised $4,532,129. Since 1987 the 28 editions of this annual event have brought in more than $58 million.

Tickets are available now at broadwaycares.org or by calling (212) 840-0770, ext. 268. Tickets are $375 for VIP orchestra; $250 priority center orchestra; $130 side orchestra and front mezzanine; $50 rear side orchestra and middle mezzanine; and $30 rear mezzanine. *
