News Ebersole and Mitchell Will Open Landmark Season Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole will kick off the 2008-2009 season at Port Washington's historic Landmark on Main Street.

Ebersole will offer her evening of song Oct. 11 at 8 PM. On Nov. 8, fellow Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will perform at the Landmark's annual Spotlight gala fundraiser, which begins at 7:30 PM.

Also on the bill for the Landmark's Broadway and Cabaret Series are Shelby Lynne (Nov. 15), Maude Maggart (Nov. 22), Michelle Shocked (Jan. 31, 2009), Tony Rush (April 25, 2009), Jeff Harnar (May 1, 2009) and Lucie Arnaz (June 20, 2009).

Ebersole is a two-time Tony Award winner for her roles in 42nd Street and Grey Gardens, for which she also received the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards. A Tony nominee for Dinner at Eight, Ebersole's Broadway credits also include Steel Magnolias, The Best Man, Getting Away with Murder, Harrigan 'n Hart, Camelot, Oklahoma!, On the Twentieth Century, I Love My Wife and Angel Street. Her screen credits include "Saturday Night Live," "Amadeus," "Gypsy" and "Will and Grace."

Brian Stokes Mitchell, who was seen in the City Center Encores! presentation of Kismet, earned a Tony nomination for his performance in the title role of Man of La Mancha. He won the 2000 Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for his performance as Fred Graham/Petruchio in Kiss Me, Kate, and his other Broadway credits include lead roles in King Hedley II; Ragtime; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Jelly's Last Jam; Oh, Kay!; Mail; and the City Center Encores! mountings of Do Re Mi and Carnival. Television audiences will be familiar with Mitchell's work from his roles on "Trapper John, M.D.," "Roots" and "Frasier."
