News Echo Theater Company Moves to Atwater Village Theatre California's Echo Theater Company will take up residency at Atwater Village Theatre, presenting three world premieres in its upcoming season.

The world premiere of Tommy Smith's Firemen, directed by artistic director Chris Fields, will begin performances Feb. 8. It will be followed by the world premieres of Mickey Birnbaum’s Backyard, directed by Larry Biederman, and Jessica Goldberg's Better, directed by Jennifer Chambers.

A revival of Stories of the Season, by Robert Alan Beuth and Robert George Harrison, and directed by Beuth, will end the year. 

"After 16 years of moving around L.A. — we’ve produced 48 plays, including 35 world premieres, of which 20 were commissioned — the Echo has finally found a home," Fields said in a statement. "The ideal theater in a wonderful neighborhood where we can carry on our work."
