News ECPA's Summer Cabaret at Yale Presents Adaptation of Kafka's Metamorphosis, July 12 The Summer Cabaret at Yale, presented annually by the Ensemble Company for the Performing Arts (ECPA) presents a world premiere adaptation of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis beginning July 12. Yale School of Drama playwright Leslie Kramer (One Dead Solider) has adapted the piece, which will be presented July 12 - 15 and again July 19 - 22.

The Summer Cabaret at Yale, presented annually by the Ensemble Company for the Performing Arts (ECPA) presents a world premiere adaptation of Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis beginning July 12. Yale School of Drama playwright Leslie Kramer (One Dead Solider) has adapted the piece, which will be presented July 12 - 15 and again July 19 - 22.

The cast for The Metamorphosis features Jennifer Brooke Riker (Grega Samsa), Katherine McKeever and Kelly Flynn (Samsa's parents), Mark Mattek and Derek Lucci.

Director Shannon C.M. Flynn, the founding co-artistic director of the Hunger Artists Theatre in Southern California, will helm Kramer's adaptation. The creative team includes scenic and lighting designer Agnieszka Kunska with sound designer Mimi Epstein. At Hunger Artists, Flynn oversaw three seasons featuring The Unknown (world premiere) and In The Penal Colony. She is also credited with developing the Pacific Playwrights Festival at South Coast Repertory Theatre.

Director Flynn, playwright Kramer and dramaturg Claudia Wilsch will hold a "Discussion Night" on Wed., July 19 in the Cabaret immediately following the 8:30 PM performance. Refreshments will be available.
