News Eddie Izzard, Morgan Freeman to Play The Hollywood Bowl Tony Award nominee Eddie Izzard and Academy and Obie Award winner Morgan Freeman will be seen this summer at the Hollywood Bowl, the venerable outdoor California concert hall announced March 8.

Eddie Izzard, Stripped to the Bowl, which will mark the first all-comedy presentation to play the Hollywood Bowl, is scheduled for July 20 at 8 PM. Izzard is known for his stand-up, in addition to his stage performances in Race, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg and Cryptogram.

Freeman will appear as a special guest at the concert John Williams: Maestro of the Movies. The acclaimed actor will narrate Williams' suite from The Reivers in an evening of film composer Williams' most memorable scores.

Freeman earned an Academy Award for "Million Dollar Baby" and Obie Awards for Driving Miss Daisy (for which he also earned an Oscar nomination for the film version), The Gospel at Colonus, Mother Courage and Coriolanus. He holds additional Oscar nominations for "Invictus," "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Street Smart."
